The City of Vaughan is committed to ensuring citizens and those using fireworks are aware of the rules surrounding firework use, so they can be enjoyed, safely, by all. Vaughan’s Fireworks By-law (PDF) regulates the use of fireworks in the city, including when and where they may be set off.

Did you know fireworks can only be lit without a permit on Victoria Day and Canada Day? To use fireworks on any other day, you must get a permit from the City. That’s outlined in the by-law.

The City reviews its by-laws on a regular basis and is in the process of reviewing and updating the Fireworks By-law. Join the conversation and have your say on fireworks in Vaughan.
