The City of Vaughan is undertaking a traffic mitigation, operational and road safety review in Kleinburg for the Napier Street and Stegman’s Mill Road community. Streets under review include John Street, Kellam Street, Islington Avenue (between Highway 27 and Nashville Road), Stegman’s Mill Road (between Islington Avenue and Napier Street), and Nashville Road (between Highway 27 and Islington Avenue).

The study will include a traffic operational and road safety review at the intersection of Stegman’s Mill Road and Napier Street. The study will assess the feasibility of closing all or part of Napier Street at Stegman’s Mill Road, in addition to identifying appropriate traffic mitigation measures for the area.

Traffic mitigation is a measure the City can use to manage the speeds at which vehicles travel and encourage responsible driving through physical design features (e.g., speed humps, speed cushions, curb extensions, traffic circles or roundabouts) and/or passive measures (e.g., radar speed display signs, signage or pavement markings).

Thank you to those who attended. View the presentation materials (PDF) or watch a recording of the presentation below.

Following the session, citizens were invited to participate in an online survey, available from Thursday, Nov. 25 to Friday, Dec. 17.

Thank you to those who participated! Your feedback will help the City understand the community’s perspective and finalize the traffic study.
