What’s one action or daily habit you can commit to in 2023 to lead a lifestyle that’s kinder to the environment? Individuals of all ages, including families, young professionals and students, as well as local businesses, are all welcome to participate! To help get you inspired, consider making a pledge in one more of these six areas:
repair
reuse
refuse
re-gift
reduce
recycle
Perhaps you might refuse to buy single-use items or receive paper bills this year? Or maybe you might consider reducing electricity usage by simply unplugging appliances that are on standby (the kettle, the toaster, your smartphone charger, etc.). Have you thought about reusing coffee grinds in your garden soil as fertilizer (they also drive away squirrels!)? Are you or someone you know handy? You might think about repairing well-used items to keep them out of landfill.
If you’re a business, is it possible you might consider designing your products using less (reduce) material? Or choose to recycle if it means reducing the cost of that raw material?
Take the pledge now! And don’t forget to like and comment on the other pledges that inspire you.
