The Lakeview Estates community has been selected to pilot a draft toolbox of traffic calming measures

As part of the Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Plan, the City is evaluating the proposed policy and toolbox through real-world testing within your neighbourhood.

Lakeview Estates was selected for this project through a detailed review of traffic data and consultations with community members, City staff and Members of Vaughan Council.

The City project team worked with residents of Lakeview Estates to:

  • identify key areas of concern within the neighbourhood.
  • develop solutions to address concerns through community consultation.
  • monitor and adjust measures based on data collection and community feedback.

This phase of public consultation is now closed. It included the following engagements:

  • A short online survey and interactive map were open until June 14 for residents to identify specific roads or intersections where traffic-related concerns are taking place and where specific traffic calming measures might be installed.
  • virtual open house was held on May 24 for residents to learn more about the project and its expected outcomes.
  • A walking tour/design workshop was held on June 5 at Conley Park North for residents to walk the neighbourhood, see where potential measures will be implemented, discuss design options and speak with members of the project team.
